Real REST customers
Two recent REST installs, told through the electricity use the contract assumes and the estimates that follow.

Case study
The contract estimated Jessika's grid use at around 10,076 kWh a year, costing about £2,720. With spend assumed at that level, the aim was a system big enough to make a real dent in it.
REST specified 20 panels (9.5 kWp) with two Fox ESS EP12 batteries, 23.04 kWh in total. The contract estimated about 7,813 kWh of generation in the first year, with roughly 48% used inside the home.
The estimated £2,469 breaks down as about £1,020 from solar used directly, £864 from the batteries and £585 from exported surplus. The contract puts payback at around 10 years.

Case study
The contract puts Garry's yearly grid use at about 9,682 kWh, costing roughly £2,781. Evening demand matters here, because the panels have stopped producing by then.
So the design leans on storage: 17 panels (8.075 kWp) feed three Fox ESS EP12 batteries, 34.56 kWh of storage between them. The contract estimates about 6,597 kWh generated in year one, with around 55% used at home.
Of the estimated £2,141 first-year benefit, about £867 comes from solar used directly, £844 from the batteries and £430 from export. Estimated payback is around 11 years.
Customer names are first name and last initial. All figures are estimates taken from each customer's signed REST UK contract, not measured results, and they depend on the roof, usage, tariff and future energy prices. These are selected examples, not typical results. Usage and spend figures are the estimates recorded in each contract, not verified bills.

These are selected examples, not typical results. All figures are estimates taken from each customer's REST UK contract at the time it was signed, not measured results. Older contracts use the government's SAP method and do not quote a payback. Actual generation and savings depend on the roof, shading, how electricity is used and future energy prices, and are not guaranteed.

Why trust REST
Solar is a long-term purchase, so here is what stands behind a REST installation.
Premium European panels with a 30-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty from the manufacturer. REST helps you with any warranty claim.
Duracell, Fox ESS, Tesla and Growatt storage, sized to your usage so you only pay for the capacity you need.
Your deposit is protected through HIES, with insurance-backed cover and help resolving problems if something goes wrong.
Savings estimates follow an EPVS-validated process. They stay estimates, never promises, and your quote shows the assumptions.

Solar in Leicester
The practical checks that matter before you fit solar in Leicester.
Leicester City Council says some of its conservation areas have Article 4 Directions, which can remove permitted development rights. Flats and commercial buildings also face stricter rules than houses. Most houses outside those areas can fit roof panels without a planning application, so check your address first.
Leicester homes connect through the East Midlands network run by National Grid Electricity Distribution. REST makes the G98 or G99 application on your behalf. The network operator sets the timetable, and REST cannot guarantee how quickly it responds.
Leicester's streets mix Victorian terraces, interwar semis and modern estates, and each roof offers a different amount of clear space. The surveyor measures the usable area and checks for shade before recommending a panel count, rather than assuming a standard package.

Common questions
Yes. Your quote costs nothing and you are under no obligation to go ahead.
REST has finance options, including routes with no upfront cost. Finance is subject to status and lender approval, and REST UK acts as a credit broker, not a lender.
REST starts from your bill range and postcode. To confirm the panel layout and final price, a REST surveyor arranges to see the property, which is free and carries no obligation.
It is a cautious guide for a typical home with your bill. Your personalised quote uses your roof and usage, and it is still an estimate, not a guarantee.
Most of the estimates REST has reviewed for Leicestershire homes fall between about £800 and £1,200 in the first year, depending on usage, system size and battery. Your own quote gives your figure.
Often not for a house roof. Conservation areas with an Article 4 Direction, listed buildings and flats are the main exceptions, so check your address with the council.
You can, through a Smart Export Guarantee tariff, which you apply for with your electricity supplier. The tariff rate varies by supplier.
Your quote sets out the planned fitting programme. The network operator's response to the grid application can also affect the date, and REST cannot control that timing.
